WE’RE ACCOUNTANTS, SERIOUSLY

The numbers are our thing. We can take care of the financial stuff, while you get back to brainstorming.

That’s the reason you come, but not the reason you stay.

You don’t just want a transactional relationship. You’re creative, a go-getter. You’re up for learning and being empowered. You want to talk to a team who get just as excited about your ‘crazy’ ideas as you do.

We take what we do seriously. We just don’t take ourselves too seriously.

I HAVE A MUG THAT MY CHILDREN GAVE ME ONE FATHER’S DAY FEATURING A WELL KNOWN CARTOON CHARACTER THAT SAID – “MY DADDY HAS AN EXTREMELY SERIOUS JOB…BUT I DON’T THINK HE IS VERY SERIOUS AT ALL”.

– JONATHAN BAREHAM, RAEDAN DIRECTOR, CO-FOUNDER

After all, it’s in the name…

Old English verb [ rǣ•dan ]

1 : to advise
2 : to interpret, explain
3 : to interpret words and letters; to read
4 : to prepare

YOU SAY IT LIKE RAY-DAN
When we started our business, we wanted a name that spoke to our goals. We are advisors to small businesses on a mission to change how creative businesses think about accounting. We wanted to help clients feel empowered by accounting and see it as more than a necessary evil.

We still do.

We started by looking into what the family name meant, it seems Bareham had Anglo-Saxon origins. Google lead us to an Anglo-Saxon dictionary and we were delighted to find the word rǣdan. It’s meaning described so brilliantly our goals – advise, interpret, explain.

It’s true pronunciation is ree-dan, however, using the ǣ in branding proved confusing so when moving to a more easily recognised ae, it also made sense to change to ray-dan.

ALESSANDRA STERI

Senior Client Assistant

Alessandra joined Raedan in 2019 as a Client Assistant. A stickler for the details, she maintains that accountancy is a little bit like detective work (more interesting than most people think!).

Alessandra loves that every client is different and each of their businesses is so unique and fascinating. If you need an italian food recommendation or tips on learning a new language – she’s your go-to!

DAMINI MAKWANA

Client Assistant

Damini sees her role as a Client Assistant as a really personal job. She loves the satisfaction that comes from being able to help keep a client’s account clean!

But mostly she’s in it for the relationships that can be formed. It’s not just a formal conversation
about work with Damini’s clients, but about catching up on how the weekend went or what makes them happy.

“To feel appreciated in a job you love is a great feeling”.
